Make it stand out.
Mission Statement
To provide children with tasty and nutritious food, giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential in school and beyond. To utilize our own urban farms not only to grow fruits and vegetables for our school lunch program but to also create a friendly space where neighbors can better themselves and improve their community through alternative methods of enrichment. To provide cold storage for local farming partners, as well as a weekly farmer’s market where we can sell locally grown produce at a discounted rate for our community.
Cornerstones
Utilizing urban gardens to supplement the fruits and vegetables that we serve New Orleans Public School children.
Partner with existing farmers through contract farming and providing a space for them to store their crops.
Create a weekly farmer’s market where our farmer partners can sell their produce and products.
Curate a CSA box intended firstly for our school partners, but available to all.
To provide a safe space for our neighborhood to grow together and thrive.
To feed the homeless and disadvantaged in our community.
Operate community fridges that we stock with our excess school lunches/harvests.
Create in person programming at Bourree and our gardens to teach people how to grow food at home.
Offer cooking classes where we show children as well as their parents how to cook with freshly farmed produce.
